At Towaki Brewing, we believe beer is best enjoyed in a space that’s welcoming, safe, and respectful for everyone — whether you’re a guest, team member, vendor, or neighbor. This Code of Conduct lays out how we work together to keep it that way.

1. Equal Opportunity for All

We’re proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. Our hiring decisions are based on qualifications, not personal characteristics. That means no discrimination — ever — based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or anything else protected by law.

This commitment applies to every part of working here: hiring, promotions, training, pay, and more.

2. Respect & Inclusivity

Everyone is welcome here. We celebrate people of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or hate of any kind has no place at Towaki — from staff or guests.
  • We actively support diversity in our hiring, partnerships, and community involvement.
  • Treat others how you want to be treated — with kindness and respect.

3. Drink Responsibly & Have Fun Safely

We’re passionate about craft beer — and about enjoying it responsibly.

  • If someone is visibly intoxicated, disruptive, or acting aggressively, they may be asked to leave.
  • Our staff are trained to serve responsibly and may refuse service to ensure safety.
  • We check IDs and don’t serve minors — no exceptions.

4. No Harassment. No Exceptions.

Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected.

  • Harassment includes bullying, unwanted contact, offensive remarks, or intimidation.
  • If someone’s making you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, let a staff member know right away.
  • We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination or harassment — period.

We also take this seriously within our team. We won’t tolerate bias or harassment based on:

  • Age, height, or weight
  • Race, color, ancestry, National Origin, or ethnicity
  • Religion or belief
  • Gender identity, expression, or sexual orientation
  • Ability, disability, or medical status
  • Marital, military, or veteran status
  • Misdemeanor arrest record
  • Any legally protected characteristic

5. Guest Behavior

We want Towaki to feel like a second home — for everyone.

  • Treat staff, other guests, and the space with care.
  • Disruptive or disrespectful behavior can lead to removal or being banned.
  • Kids must stay with their grownups
  • Dogs are welcome on the patio as long as they’re leashed and friendly.

6. Be a Good Neighbor

We’re proud to be part of a vibrant community, and we want to be great neighbors.

  • Be considerate of others — in our taproom, our neighborhood, and shared spaces.
  • Reduce noise, avoid littering, and help us care for the environment.

7. Empowering Our Staff

Our team is here to make sure everyone has a great time — safely and respectfully.

  • Staff are trained to de-escalate issues and have full authority to ask someone to leave if needed.
  • We don’t allow drinking on shift or showing up under the influence.
  • Staff are encouraged to speak up about safety or workplace concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • We follow safety protocols in the brewhouse and beyond to keep our workplace clean, organized, and secure.

8. Workplace Safety

Safety is a top priority for both staff and guests.

  • We follow all health, safety, and cleanliness guidelines.
  • In emergencies, please listen to staff, follow the procedures and help out if you’re able.

9. How We Show Up Online

Whether in person or online, we represent the Towaki community.

  • If you’re posting as part of the team, represent us with respect and positivity.
  • Any hate speech or content that goes against our values can lead to disciplinary action.

10. Sustainability & Community Impact

We care about our planet and our people.

  • We work to reduce waste, source locally, and give back through events and partnerships.
  • Small actions matter — be kind to the earth, and to each other.

11. Speak Up — We’re Listening

We want to hear from you.

  • If you experience or witness behavior that goes against this Code, please tell a staff member or email us at towakibrewing@gmail.com.
  • We do not tolerate retaliation and take every report seriously.
  • Violations can result in disciplinary action, including termination.

Beer brings people together — how we treat each other is what keeps our community coming back. Let’s raise a glass to a safe, respectful, and inclusive brewery for all.

Cheers!
